AORUS DDR4-4800 RGB 16GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts

Each time we see a company move into a new market it is always interesting to see what they do. When Gigabyte moved into the memory market at the time I said it makes sense and seeing this memory up close definitely put them on my radar. This second generation of AORUS RGB memory is some of the best RGB memory that I’ve seen. The sleek heatspreaders and excellent diffuser with RGB lighting really set this memory off.

Gigabyte is also offering these kits in some of the fastest speeds available. We took at look at the 4800 MHz kit and it is the fastest memory that we’ve ever reviewed. Now keep in mind that you’ll need a motherboard and processor that can handle that speed. We tested using a Core i9-11900K and Gigabyte Z590 AORUS Master motherboard. I would be sure to check your motherboard to see if it can support speeds this fast.

The only real thing I did not like about this memory was for some reason the backside of the memory shows instead of the side with the AORUS logo. So on our Z590 motherboard we see the stickers on the memory showing rather than a sleek heatspreader.

AORUS does not even list this kit on their website, and we cannot find it for sale anywhere currently. The 4400 MHz kit is selling for $179.99 at our favorite online retailer, so I assume the 4800 MHz kit would be a bit more expensive than that. Overall ThinkComputers gives the AORUS DDR4-4800 RGB 16GB Memory Kit a 9 out of 10 score.
