ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT Taichi X OC+ Graphics Card Review

Final Thoughts
While I’ve only taken a look at a few custom RX 5700 series models the Radeon RX 5700 XT Taichi OC+ from ASRock has to be one of the best designed that I’ve seen. As I mentioned earlier in this review ASRock only started making graphics cards a little over a year ago and it is very impressive to see how far they’ve progressed as this card looks better than cards from companies that have been making cards for a very long time. The card is going to look amazing in your system with its very unique style and of course that RGB ring around the center fan. Not to mention the full-cover backplate is one of the best that I’ve seen. Now if you have a Taichi motherboard you can really match things up for a really cohesive build.

Now it is not all about looks you are of course want a good performing card. This card does have a nice factory overclock, which will give you better performance over a reference clocked cards. All of the top-tier custom RX 5700 XT cards will perform right around the same with maybe 1-3% difference, which will not really be noticeable. So its not like we can say “X” 5700 XT card will be better. But we can say ASRock has put a lot of time into this card from the design, to the cooling, to the custom VRM design. So you definitely are going to get a quality card here with the Radeon RX 5700 XT Taichi X OC+.

This card is an excellent card for 1440p gaming at high frame rates and 1080p gaming with frame rates well over 100 FPS. You could even get in some 4K gaming with pretty high settings depending on the title. This performance in our testing typically beats out a 2060 Super depending on the title and would be pretty on par with a 2070 Super. Obviously the thing that this card is missing compared to NVIDIA cards is real-time ray tracing and DLSS. Most people we’ve talked to really do not care about those features, but if they are important to you, you will not get them with this card.

When it comes to cooling this card was one of the hotter cards that we have tested, but nothing really crazy. The hotter temperatures are likely due to the increased clocks and the card is not all that loud, even during full load. So I would take the few degrees hotter than other cards over the card sounding like it is about to take off. The fans also will turn completely off when the there is not a high load on the card.

Another thing worth mentioning is that ASRock does have tweaking software available for the card, which worked well in our testing and it was much better than others we’ve seen.

Right now this card is selling at our favorite online retailer for $479.99, which gives it an $80 premium over reference RX 5700 XT cards. While that might be a high premium, you are getting the benefit of a factory overclock, custom cooling solution, and of course the amazing design. If someone asked me today which Radeon RX 5700 XT to get the ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT Taichi X OC+ would be at the top of my list!
