ASUS Announces its First Thunderbolt 4 Motherboard

The motherboard market has been kind of dry for a long time as only Intel has released its 500-series chipset for Rocket Lake-S based on the LGA1200 platform. In contrast, AMD has not released any new chipset since August 2020.

It’s been 8 months since the arrival of the mid-range chipset B550, and still, motherboard manufacturers are manufacturing motherboards based on that chip. It remains unclear if AMD will stick to the 500 series until the completion of the AM5 socket or will release an update for X570 and B550 motherboards. The X570 and B550 could be the last AM4 based motherboards, but now ASUS has announced a new AM4 motherboard, the ProArt B550 Creator.
