It looks like ASUS is joining the 4 GB GTX 960 party with their GTX 960 STRIX 4GB graphics card (STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-4GD5). The card features 4 GB of video memory and has factory-overclocked speeds of 1291 MHz core and 1317 MHz boost. That is compared to the reference speeds of 1126/1178 MHz.
The DirectCU II STRIX cooling solution features a nice aluminum heatsink that is ventilated by a pair of fans that actually stay off until a temperature threshold is reached. So the card can be completely silent at times. The card also has a nice backplate that helps cool the memory chips on the back of the card. Power to the card comes by way of a 6pin PCI-Express power connector.

So I guess I’ll be the 1st to ask the big question; do these new GTX 960’s actually have 4 GB of memory, or is it the same as the GTX 970, and only be able to utilize 3.5 GB?
No its 4GB, the way the memory controller works, if no one has ever taken notice is, always a doubling of the same configuration, aka it was originally a 2GB Vram and they double it to the memory controller, the 970 is actually a 4GB Vram native card with just a funky new memory controller config. More importantly, with this card is it actually powerful enough to actually use and access the 4GB before you start hitting a performance ceiling and framerates start plummeting.
