ASUS Reveals ROG Swift Pro, World’s First 540Hz Gaming Monitor

The ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP will be the world’s first 540 Hz gaming display. Last year, ASUS revealed a 500 Hz monitor. The PG248QP boasts an E-TN screen with a refresh rate of up to 540Hz that has been overclocked. The ROG Swift Pro is designed for gamers who may not require a high resolution but who place a premium on the panel’s quickness and low latency.

ROG Swift Pro has an inbuilt NVIDIA G-Sync Reflex Analyzer and ESS DAC converter to allow multichannel sound with near-zero audio delay. This monitor’s resolution is limited to 1920 x 1080; hence it is only integrated with HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. In contrast to competing products, such as the Alienware AW2524H, which uses an IPS panel to attain a refresh rate of 480/500Hz(OC), ASUS employs a TN panel. It covers 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, but no other data is provided.

ASUS also is showing off the PG27AQDM, which has a 27-inch 1440p OLED panel. ASUS has already released this monitor last month. The 240Hz refresh rate is an essential feature. ASUS affirms that this monitor’s thermal design has been enhanced with a bespoke heatsink and voltage improvements for the panel.

Although no dates or pricing were made official today, ASUS claims that both monitors will be made available between Q1 and Q2 of this year.
