Final Thoughts on the ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE Keyboard

With the ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE ASUS is ushering in their second generation hall effect keyboard and I have to say that this implementation is very much refined from what we saw on the ROG Falchion Ace HFX. First off they’ve made the keyboard slightly larger, moving up from a 65% form factor to 75%. This gives gives that all important function row, which many will appreciate.

The biggest change you are going to see is going to be with the switches. You now have the ability to choose from the new ROG HFX V2 & V2X magnetic switches. These have been completely upgraded from the originals with a shorter travel distance and actuation force. The magnet itself has been made larger, which allows you to set your actuation point in 0.01 mm increments. This is incredibly precise and that is what magnetic keyboards are all about as you have the ability to set your actuation point for each individual key. The more fine-tuned and precise that can be, the better. The switches also now make use of a lubricated POM stem, which gives them an excellent feel. The stem uses a block design, which reduces key wobble and I did not notice any key wobble in my time with the keyboard. Finally these switches are also hot-swappable, something you don’t really see on other magnetic switch keyboards.

You still get the multi-function button and touch panel, which make adjusting certain settings a breeze. For even more adjustments there is a sensitivity adjustment wheel. And of course you can’t forget about the dedicated rapid trigger toggle switch, which has been a staple on ASUS ROG magnetic keyboards. ASUS has even thrown in a very nice hard-shell case for the keyboard, which is a nice addition.

I also really like that ASUS has moved their configuration software online. So no more bloated Armoury Crate or Armoury Crate Gear, everything is done in the browser via Gear Link.

For a magnetic-switch hall effect gaming keyboard the ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE is going to give you everything you want. Setting your own actuation points and dead zones, rapid trigger, speed tap, and so much more. What really sets this keyboard apart from others is the new switches which allow for extremely fine-tuned adjustments, the touch-panel, and just how solid and comfortable this keyboard is. If you are a serious gamer this is definitely a keyboard that needs to be on the top of your list.

Right now you can pick up this keyboard at our favorite online retailer for $219.99, which does make it a bit more expensive than other magnetic switch keyboards, but all of the extra features definitely justify the price. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE Keyboard a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
