Usage and Final Thoughts on the ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition
I’ve been using the ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition for the past few weeks and I have to say I am really enjoying it. At 54 grams it is one of the lightest mice out there that does not have a cheap design or holes in it. In my testing there is no flex in the sides of the mouse at all, something I have noticed on other lightweight mice. Talking about the sides of the mouse I really like the slight slits that are cut into the frame. They actually give you a bit more grip, so much so I really did not see a need to install the included mouse grips.
When it comes to performance I was very satisfied. I did not encounter any wireless issues at all and ASUS actually does quite a lot to make sure wireless latency is at a minimum. Not all 2.4 GHz receivers are the same and ASUS definitely stands out from the pack here with excellent performance. All of the buttons on the mouse are very comfortable and easy to access. For most gamers the amount of buttons should be sufficient as well.
As with most ASUS products you need to use Armoury Crate to make major adjustments to the mouse (although some can be made on-the-fly). Over the years Armoury Crate has become a bit sluggish and I did notice that here. Luckily you can just install Armoury Crate Gear which essentially is a lightweight version for just the mouse itself.
While the two biggest players in the competitive mouse space are Razer and Logitech I think you really need to add ASUS to that list as the ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition is an excellent mouse. Right now you can pick it up at our favorite online retailer for $89.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition a 9 out of 10 score.
