Final Thoughts on the ASUS ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme
The RYUJIN series sits as the top of the line series from ASUS ROG and for good reason. You are getting excellent performance thanks to Asetek’s Emma Gen8 V2 pump, a thicker 30mm radiator, re-engineered fans which also have been made thicker, and you can’t forget about the VRM fan to keep your VRMs nice and cool, which is especially needed if you are planning on overclocking.
On top of all of that you are getting a pump-block that looks good on its own, but ASUS has added a 3.5-inch color LCD display, which is really going to set off the inside of your system. This display is easily configured with ASUS’s Armoury Crate software which gives you the ability to add your own images or animated GIFs as well as display system stats and more. For the RGB lovers out there the three ARGB fans are going to light up your system nicely.
ASUS tells us this cooler was specifically designed for Intel’s latest Core Ultra (series 2) processors and in our testing we saw great results on the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. While some of that has to do with these processors being more efficient, the results here were still very impressive and this cooler will be able to handle the most powerful CPUs out there whether you’re on the Intel or AMD side.
Another thing to really appreciate about this cooler is how easy installation is. The magnetic fans have a lot to do with that. Not only do they just snap together for easy placement, but there is a single connection on the end for your cabling. Also the pump-block installation is quite easy and there are no screws to remove when taking the housing off. If anything it would have been nice to see the fans pre-installed on the radiator itself as we’ve seen on other AiO’s before. Maybe I’m a purist, but I’m not the biggest fan of pre-applied thermal paste, at least on this level of a product. If this was an entry-level product sure, but I think most enthusiasts want to spread their own TIM.
Right now you can pick this cooler up at our favorite online retailer for $349.99. While this may seem like a lot, you are getting quite a lot here and this is one of the best performing 360mm coolers that we’ve seen! Overall ThinkComputers gives the ASUS ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme Liquid CPU Cooler a 9 out of 10 score.
