It looks like our assumptions were right, Borderlands 3 will be an Epic Games exclusive. That is a timed-exclusive, the game will be released on September 13th on all platforms September 13th, but its distribution on PC will only be on the Epic Games store. Other online distribution platforms (Steam) will have to wait until April 2020 to sell copies of the game.
The game will also feature optimized performance for AMD’s CPU and GPU portfolio. AMD has worked with Gearbox to aid in performance optimizations for is Ryzen CPUs, current GPUs, and we can expect Navi GPUs as well. Looking at the announcement trailer (below) and the press release it looks like this will be a story-driven shooter which Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said is, “a love letter to fans of the series, but also as an ideal entry point for new players to jump-in alone or cooperatively, on or off-line, in the latest and greatest installment of the definitive best-in-class benchmark shooter-looter.”
