Cablemod has finally publicly revealed their much-anticipated modern GeForce GPU-compatible 90-degree angle power cable adapter. This cable supports the 600W spec and overcomes the most fundamental issue with RTX 4090 GPUs, which have inadequate clearance for power cords.
We know that several of the cards in the RTX 4090 series are significantly wider than those in the RTX 30 series. Not only the length and thickness of the card are essential, but also its width must be taken into consideration. NVIDIA’s power adapter, included with every RTX 4090 card supplied by board partners, also requires a few centimeters of space. Many new RTX 4090 owners were thus compelled to utilize their cards without side panels until a fix was discovered.
For accurate installation, the cable that forms the 90-degree angle needs only an additional 23.2 mm of space. The connector will be available in two configurations, assuring it will support all RTX 4090 and, most likely, RTX 4080 series cards.
For the time being, the cable is not available for purchase. The company revealed that the pre-sale will begin on October 31st and that potential buyers may sign up to be alerted as soon as it begins.
