Comica Vimo S MI Overview
The Vimo S MI Wireless Microphone System is all together in the charging case. The way they have designed this case actually makes it one of the smallest I’ve seen so you can easily put it in your pocket.
On one side of the charging case you’ll find a button. This allows you to see the battery level. On the opposite side is a USB-C connection that allows you to charge the case and the microphones inside of it.
The reason the charging case is so small is that instead of having the receiver in the charging case, it is basically part of it. You can easily slide it off from the bottom of the case. The receiver makes use of a lightning connection so its made specifically for Apple devices. On the front there is a large mode button, indication LEDs for the two microphones and a gain dial. On the bottom there is a USB-C connection that can be used with the included monitoring cable so you can monitor your audio live.
Opening the charging case up we find our two microphones and we can see a display that shows us how charged they are. You can actually see this display through the door on the case, which is nice. The two microphones are quite small and I do have to mention they have a glossy finish on them. If you are shooting outside they could give off a glare if you are shooting in sunlight.
The microphones have a single button on the side, which is a multi-function button. If you short press it, it will mute. If you long press it it will switch to denoise mode. If for some reason the microphone is unpaired you can long press this button to pair it again. Each microphone has a clip on it, which makes it really easy to attach to yourself or your subject. The two included wind screens easily go right on top of the microphone.
