Cooler Master MasterAir MA620M Overview
Taking a first look at the Cooler Master MasterAir MA620M it looks a little different than most CPU cooler as the fan is not visible. It basically looks like a single large heatsink. I actually really like this design, but we do have to wonder if putting the fan in the center will affect performance. The fan in the center is Cooler Master’s own SF120R which is a 120 mm PWM fan that runs between 650-2000 RPM, with a max airflow of 57.3 CFM, and noise level between 8-30 dBA.
The cooler is actually quite big, it has official dimensions of 135 x 125 x 165 mm / 5.3 x 4.9 x 6.5 inch. Cooler master has painted the entire heatsink black, which we think looks quite good.
On each side of the fan installed in the center you have aluminum heatsink towers. The heatsink fin array is pretty dense and Cooler Master has made notches towards the bottom on each side so you won’t run into any clearance issues.

The top of the cooler is sort of capped off, which again we really like. Up top you’ll find a Cooler Master logo and a diffused section which will light up with RGB lighting. Two screws are visible, which we think is OK considering Cooler Master has moved away from the horrible mounting system that we saw on the MasterAir MA620P.

Moving down to the bottom of the cooler there are six copper heatpipes that are of course painted black as well. These copper heatpipes start at the base of the cooler and go up into each heatsink in a “U” fashion.

The base of the cooler is made of solid copper and seems properly machined for smooth contact with our CPU.
