Final Thoughts
Being the largest power supply not only in size, but in total wattage the Silent Pro M2 1500W Power Supply is a beast. As far as performance goes the Voltage regulation on the unit was simply fantastic, staying under 1% on each of the rails, I’m not sure if we’ve seen a power supply that was that stable across the board. Also this power is going to be clean and efficient. The 135mm hydraulic dynamic bearing fan is extremely quiet, even during load.
There really is not much of an accessories package that comes with the Silent Pro M2. We are normally used to seeing a carrying bag for PSU and cables, cable ties or something along those lines, but Cooler Master only included a set of mounting screws. One thing that sets this power supply apart from many of the same power suppliers in its category is the fact that it has a total of 12 PCIe connectors (6x 6+2pin, 6x 8pin). Saying you can power quite a few video cards is an understatement! The size of the Silent Pro M2 1500W is something that you are going to need to consider as well. It is a very long power supply so you are going to want to make sure that it will fit inside your case.
With the large wattage the Silent Pro M2 fits into a very select category of high-end power supplies. Being in that category this unit is going to come with a high price tag. Currently it is selling at my favorite online retailer for $399. Looking at power supplies in the same category the ENERMAX Maxrevo 1500W is $359 and is 80PLUS Gold Certified and fully modular. The LEPA G Series 1600W is $314 and adds 100W of extra output as well as being 80PLUS Gold Certified and fully modular. Now obviously we cannot speak on the performance of those two units as we have not tested them. These two power supplies only have 10 PCIe connectors to the Silent Pro M2’s 12. So those are some things to think about.
