Crucial T700 Solid State Drive Overview

Taking a look at the non-heatsink version of the T700 first it is your standard 80mm M.2 drive. On the front we have a matte black heatsink sticker that lets us know we do indeed have the T700 and has a large Crucial logo on it.

Flipping over to the back there is another sticker which gives out all of our part and serial numbers and well as letting us know the capacity, which in our case is 2TB.

The heatsink version of the drive does come with the heatsink pre-installed so it is ready to go out of the box. On the top of the heatsink is a Crucial logo and it again lets us know we have the T700 drive.

For those wondering about the heatsink it is made of aluminum and nickel-plated copper. It is 20.5mm at its highest point so you are going to want to make sure you have clearance for it. It is simply a heatsink, there is no active cooling (fan) here.

Under the hood of the drive you’ll find the Phison PS5026-E26 Controller, Micron 232-layer 3D TLC NAND chips, and a DRAM chip. The E26 from Phison is a controller you’ll see in a lot of Gen5 drives this year. The drive is double-sided with two NAND chips on other opposite side.
