It has been confirmed through various other sources that E3 2022 has been canceled. The event is no longer scheduled to take place whether in person or digital. This would be the third time that the gaming expo has been canceled. The organizers of the gaming show, the ESA, have confirmed that it would put together its efforts now for the show next year in 2023.
We had all our hopes on E3 2022 after the digital event in 2021 didn’t go as planned and there was no event at all during 2020. This would have been a huge comeback if it happened. While the new Omicron variant was at its peak, ESA announced a digital event for 2022 but that was the last we heard about the event and no further updates had been provided till now. The ESA has officially canceled the E3 2022 in a public statement and has promised the 2023 event with a new format.
Coincidentally or not, Game Award’s Geoff Keighley just announced that his Summer Game Fest will be a live event scheduled for June this year and it will be hosted by Geoff himself
Just got an email… It's official, E3 digital is official cancelled for 2022. Lots of mixed feelings about this…
