Final Thoughts on the Endorfy Fortis 5 Black ARGB CPU Cooler

As I mentioned in the beginning of this review Endorfy is a new brand to us here at ThinkComputers. So it has been interesting to see how they compare to other air cooler brands out there. When it comes to an air cooler there are three main things I look for. First actually isn’t performance, but installation. How easy is the cooler to get installed? Bad or difficult installation really ruins the whole experience of a CPU cooler. So for this cooler installation was quite easy, although the instructions could have been a bit better. Essentially they show you a diagram of how the cooler gets installed, but not really a step-by-step, which most other coolers give you. Now you could totally install this cooler with your motherboard mounted in your case, which is a good thing, especially if you are upgrading from another cooler.

Next we have performance. With our new test system we’ve only tested two other coolers, and they happen to be dual-fan, dual-tower coolers. While the Fortis 5 Black ARGB ended up being last in all of our performance tests compared to those coolers it did hold its own, which is pretty impressive considering it is smaller than those coolers and only has a single fan. Since it is smaller it is not going to cover your memory either. Now I wouldn’t recommend this cooler for higher-end CPUs, especially if you plan on overclocking. But if you have a normal CPU that you are running at its stock settings this cooler will definitely suffice.

After performance is noise and again since we only have a single fan this cooler was the most quiet out of our test group. Overall this is going to be a very quiet cooler and the fan will even stop completely if the temperature allows.

Finally we come to looks and lighting. This is the ARGB version of the cooler so you are going to get lighting on both the fan and the top cap of the cooler itself. It looks quite good and adds a little bit of bling to your system. It definitely makes the cooler stand out for sure.

When it comes to pricing you can find this cooler over at Newegg for $50.50, which I think is a very fair price. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Endorfy Fortis 5 Black ARGB CPU Cooler an 8 out of 10 score.

  1. Thanks for a great review of a product from a new company. I would be interested in seeing some reviews of products from another new company: upHere. I just installed their UE2 Elite KC8C cooler which contains 8 heatpipes that are curved back to allow unlimited ram height. It seems to perform as well as other similar 2 fan coolers but some detailed comparisons would be interesting to others who want reasonably priced air coolers while still being able to have whatever argb ram dimms they want. Hopefully you’ll be able to arrange with upHere to review some of their coolers.
