If you’ve been on the internet the past week much of what we’ve talked about has been Fallout 4. Based on what we’ve seen the launch of Fallout 4 has been very successful. Well now the numbers are in and they are pretty staggering. Combined sales of the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions of the game have amounted to over $750 million in sales! Bethesda launched with approximately 12 million units worldwide to meet day one demand.
The game is already breaking records. On Steam the game has the most concurrent players on at once for a non-Valve title with over 470,000 people playing the game at once. Fallout Pip-Boy, became the number one game on the iTunes App Store. Fallout 4 also set the record as the most viewed game launch of all 2015 games, according to Twitch.
Also the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition was the fastest-selling collector’s edition of any game in history at leading retailers. Very impressive!
“We’re extremely proud of Todd Howard, Game Director at Bethesda Game Studios, and his experienced team of developers for their talent and dedication in creating this extraordinary game. Fallout 4 is a masterpiece in game development and storytelling, providing fans hundreds of hours of fun as they explore and are challenged by this fascinating, beautifully crafted world.” Vlatko Andonov, President of Bethesda said in the release.
Todd Howard also added, “A huge thanks to our fans that’ve made this all possible. After four years of development, it’s not complete until our fans get to play it and make it their own. We can’t wait to hear about their adventures.”
It looks like Fallout 4 could be the best selling PC game of the year! I guess we will have to see how well Star Wars Battlefront does next week! It is definitely an exciting time for gamers!
