FNATIC Streak Gaming Keyboard Review

Software & Lighting
FNATIC has their own software for their gaming peripherals called FNATIC OP. It is currently in “early access” and we are testing with version 0.0.27. When you open up the software are you greeted by a screen showing FNATIC’s hardware that is compatible with OP. When you hover over ones that you have connected to your system you have the ability to “customize”.

When you select the streak you are given a live view of the keyboard with the current light effects showing as well. You can see there is a drop-down for profiles (there are 4) and a button for device info which shows the device ID and firmware version.

The first tab at the top is lighting. Here we can change the different lighting effects on the keyboard. As far as effects go you have wave, rain, pulse, fade, color editor, gradient, reactive, and reactive ripple. Under each effect you can select colors, animation speed, and animation direction.

The lighting does look quite nice on this keyboard. Here are a few shots of the keyboard all lit up.

The next tab is Key Bindings. Here you can completely remap the keyboard, but on top of that you can set a secondary function for each key that is enabled by holding down the function key and then your desired key. Besides normal key strokes you can also set a macro, launch an application, open a file, or open a link. Creating macros is quite easy as you just start recording.

The final tab is Competition Mode. Here you can set the colors and which keys are active when you press the competition mode key on the keyboard. By default it disables the Windows key, but you can fully customize it to your liking.
