A couple of weeks ago we told you about the departure of Chris Hook from AMD, where he sat as the lead of AMD’s Radeon Technologies’ Group Marketing Department. It was unsure at the time if Chris would join Intel, but it looks like the rumors were true, he is now at Intel.
Hook will be the head of discrete graphics marketing at Intel, confirming many rumors that Intel is building a team to bring a new discrete GPU into the marketplace. This will allow Intel to compete with NVIDIA and AMD for part of the AI and blockchain computing market.
So far the big hires of past AMD Exec’s by Intel have included Raja Koduri, Jim Keller, and now Chris Hook. It will be really interesting to see what Intel is developing.
