Final Thoughts on the Fractal Design Epoch Case
To me Epoch just seems like a PC case done right. It essentially is Fractal’s North case, but the front wood panel has been replaced with a mesh panel and the case is seems slightly smaller. You have a simple internal design that will support ATX motherboards, graphics cards as long as 372mm, CPU coolers as tall as 170mm, a 360mm radiator, and six hard drives out of the box.
This of course being a Fractal Design case we see the same great tooling we know them for. Everything is very high quality and mostly metal. And getting your hardware installed is a breeze and we did not run into a single issue when it came to installation.
As I mentioned this is a high airflow case with its mesh front panel and each very of the case will ship with three of Fractal’s Momentum 12 fans, which means you are essentially good to go out of the box for the most part. I would suggest getting at least an exhaust fan, but to get started you are good. We of course reviewed the RGB version of the case which has the RGB fans and they add the little bit of style that some may want.
If anything, with the rise in popularity of back-connect motherboards it would have been nice to see the Epoch be able to support them.
Fractal Design is pricing the Epoch at $129.99 for the RGB versions and $109.99 for the non-RGB versions which I think are great prices for what you are getting here. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Fractal Design Epoch Case a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
