GALAX Announces GeForce RTX 4080 HOF With Up To 470W TDP

GALAX has announced their latest GPU model for tech enthusiasts. Although the company has already released the RTX 4090 and RTX 4070 Ti HOF (Hall of Fame) series, the release of the RTX 4080 was delayed for an unknown reason. Today, GALAX has unveiled three new models based on the same design with AD103 GPU.

It is important to note that GALAX’s HOF series represents the company’s top-tier GPU line, specifically designed for extreme overclocking. These cards are typically shipped to overclockers before they are even available in the market.

The three models announced are:

1. GALAX GeForce RTX 4080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X

2. GALAX GeForce RTX 4080 HOF OC LAB Plus

3. GALAX GeForce RTX 4080 HOF OC LAB

The PLUS models have the highest level of factory-overclocking, while the non-PLUS SKU comes with lower clock speeds. The difference between Plus X and Plus is straightforward: Plus X comes with the GALAX HOF Panel III, which is an external display that can show system information or custom graphics, while Plus does not include this feature.

The HOF boasts a boost clock of 2640 MHz, making it one of the fastest RTX 4080 GPUs currently available, but it is not the fastest. The ROG STRIX OC from ASUS currently holds the record for the highest clock for an RTX 4080 GPU, with a frequency of 2655 MHz that is enabled through the bundled OC software (not enabled out of the box).

GALAX has confirmed that their RTX 4080 HOF will include two BIOS settings: Silent and Performance modes. In Silent mode, the clock speed will remain at the reference specifications of 2505 MHz and TDP at 320W. In Performance mode, the BIOS will be modified to 400W TDP, which can be further adjusted to 470W through manual overclocking.

The company has not provided any information on pricing or release date, but all three models are now listed on their official website. It is important to note that the HOF series is typically produced in low volumes, making them relatively difficult to purchase, particularly during the launch period.
