Giada D2305 Mini PC Review

Giada D2305 Overview
The Giada D2305 is a pretty small unit, the exact dimensions are 174 x 230 x 55mm.  It is definitely not the smallest mini PC that we have seen, but considering what is inside that is acceptable.  The housing for the unit is made of aluminum, which gives it a very cool look and will help out with cooling.  On the top of the unit is a large Giada logo.  The unit also has some good weight to it and feels solid.

On the front of the unit is a slot-loaded DVD-RW drive.  When was the last time you saw a slot-loaded drive on anything!?  Very cool to see one on this unit.  On the far right you have a large power button and a bunch of activity LED’s.  Moving over there is a hidden compartment that easily opens to reveal a card reader, USB 3.0 port, audio connections and a clear CMOS button.  Having a USB 3.0 port, card reader and audio connections on the front is a plus as you can easily connect a flash drive or even headphone to the front of the unit.  Also having the clear CMOS button up front makes it easy to access.

Moving around to the back of the unit starting from right to left you have your power connection, DVI port, Gigabit Ethernet port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, eSATA port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, optical out and audio out.  On the far left you have the WiFi antenna and a large ventilated section which we can see a very large headsink is behind.  There is also a lock port on the back of unit.  The D2305 is powered by a small AC adapter, only needing 90W of power to operate, this is much lower than your typical PC.  On the bottom of the unit are 4 large feet that will lift it off the ground a bit.
