Gigabyte starts rolling out Ryzen 5000 support BIOS firmware updates for B550 and X570

Ryzen 5000 series CPUs come with incredible performance gains, and some sweet, sweet backward compatibility. Motherboard manufacturers are to provide updates to existing AM4 motherboards to add support for these new Zen 3 chips. Gigabyte has now started rolling out these updates for B550 and X570 series motherboards.

Gigabyte is releasing supported BIOS versions, namely F31 for the X570 chipset, F11 for the B550 chipset, and F11 for the A520 chipset. Gigabyte’s Q-Flash Plus utility will let you update the BIOS directly, without needing a CPU installed.

Gigabyte is also looking into BIOS updates for the Zen 3 AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs for motherboards based on the AMD X470 and AMD B450 chipsets. Gigabyte has promised to release those as soon as possible.

The bios files are available on the Gigabyte website now.
