Hot Swap Your NVMe Drives with the Icy Dock ToughArmor MB840M2P-B

Icy Dock’s latest ToughArmor MB840M2P-B is a great little gadget to add an NVMe drive to an older system as it is essentially an M.2 riser card that uses four PCIe 3.0 lanes. But it has another feature which makes it really useful for new system as well, the ability to hot swap your NVMe drives. Now not all NVMe drives support this feature so you’ll want to make sure your drive supports it.

The device has a tool-less design that makes it easier to swap out your NVMe drives through the PCI slot cover. It supports drives 30 mm to 110 mm in length. The device is made of aluminum and has a thermal pad for your NVMe drive to help with cooling. There is even a HDD LED header so you can see drive activity on your case. The ToughArmor MB840M2P-B comes with both full-height and low-profile PCIe expansion slot covers. No word on pricing.
