HyperX Alloy FPS RGB Gaming Keyboard + White Double-Shot PBT Keycaps Review

NGenuity Software & Lighting

When you first plug the HyperX Alloy FPS RGB in to your PC it will automatically be recognized by Windows and will be ready to game right away. If you are going to want to do any customization you’ll need to download the HyperX NGenuity software.

With the software open the main screen shows you the profile you are currently on, with a live view of the keyboard showing off the effects. Here you can add new profile, import profiles, and save your profile. You can also hit the customize button and customize each profile.

When you go to customize a profile you will first be dropped into Lighting effects, but we will skip that for now as lighting will be at the bottom of this page. The second tab is Game Mode. Here you can set which keys are disabled when game mode is enabled. Simply click on a key to disable it. You can also disable things like Alt+Tab, Alt+F4, and more.

The Macros tab is next. Here is where you can completely reprogram the keyboard. Each key can be set to another keyboard function, mouse function, multimedia function, a macro, windows shortcut, open a program, or can be completely disabled. If you want to create a macro just click on Macro Library at the top simply record a macro and save it.

Moving back up to the Lighting tab, you’ll first be able to set one effect for the entire keyboard. The effects you can choose from are Solid, Breathing, Wave, Trigger, Explosion, HyperX Flame, Cycle, or none. At the top there is a tab called zones. Here you can create different zones of colors / effects. I easily created a new zone called “stuff”. Finally there is Freestyle, which alloys for per-key customization.
