HYTE Shows off New Y40 Case, Y60 Accessories & More at CES 2023

HYTE was one of the most interesting companies we visited at CES this year. They had their brand new Y40 case, some accessories made for their Y60 case, and a new RGB mousepad!

HYTE Y40 Case

With HYTE making a big splash in the case market last year with their Y60, many people have been anticipating their next case. Well the wait is over, they have just announced the Y40. The Y40 removes the 45-degree tempered glass panel which gives it a more traditional case look. You are still going to get front and side tempered glass panels to show off your build. The overall size of the case has been decreased as well as it does not have the dual compartment design like the Y60 has.

You still have room inside for ATX motherboards, up to 7 fans (2 included), and two hard drives. Just like the Y60 you are going to get three color options which include, black, white, and red. You are also going to get the same PCI-Express riser card which will match the color of the case enabling vertical GPU mounting. For those wondering about larger graphics cards the vertical mount is slotted for 4 slots so you won’t have any issue getting an RTX 4090 inside.

The HYTE Y40 is available now at just $149.

HYTE Y60 Accessories

HYTE is definitely not done with the Y60 by any means. They were showing off two really cool accessories they will be offering for it. The first is their LCD DIY Kit. This is made to be installed behind the 45-degree angle tempered glass panel on the case.

The panel itself has a 1920 x 515 resolution and is great for showing off system stats and actually works really well for HYTE’s own Nexus software. HYTE will provide the LCD screen, driver board, and necessary cables to power the display, but users will need to DIY a mounting solution. An STL file for a 3D printed mount is available for download on the HYTE website.

The LCD DIY Kit will be available at the end of January for $120.

The next Y60 accessory is also made to be installed behind the 45-degree angle tempered glass panel on the case. This is one quite different though. Compatible with both D5 and DDC pumps, for a range of custom loops, the Y60 Distro Plate has four separate flow chambers to enable precise routing of coolant between radiators and water blocks. The ports of the Y60 Distro Plate are arranged for a dual radiator setup to provide cooling for both the CPU and GPU.

Expected pricing for the Y60 Distro Plate will be $299 and HYTE tells us it will be available in mid February.

CNVS Desk Mat

HYTE was also showing off their CNVS desk mat. This might just look like your ordinary RGB desk mat, but it is so much more! First off it features 50 LEDs and is the first product as part of their qRGB ecosystem of products. Working with their Nexus software you are given a sort of “RGB Stage” where effects and scenes flow through your different devices positionally. It is actually quite cool and immersive.

The Nexus software looks quite cool as well. It is based on a widget system and really allows for system monitoring, configuration of different HYTE products, and other widgets like time, multimedia, and more!

The CNVS desk mat has dimensions of 900 x 370mm and has a 7-layer design. It will be available in March for $119.
