MB881US-1S-1 Overview
The MB881US-1S-1 is quite a simple device and a small one at that; it is one of the smallest hard drive docks that we have seen. Because it is so small it has a really cool sleek design to it. The main dock part is white and has a single SATA connection on it and the Icy Dock logo on the front. The green part is actually the stand. I like that Icy Dock has used a different color for the stand, it gives it that unique look.
You will find all of your connections on the sides of the MB881US-1S-1. On the left side is the mini USB connection. Icy Dock uses the normal mini USB connector so you don’t have to worry about a proprietary connection. On the other side you have the eSATA and power connections.
Moving around the back we can see that the dock is held up by a large metal piece, no flimsy plastic here! There is a button on the back that will release the dock so you can use it without the stand. The dock has 4 plastic feet on the bottom so it will stay in place on your desk.
Since the dock can be removed from the stand Icy Dock has included a nice carrying case so you can easily take the MB881US-1S-1 with you when you are traveling.
