Insane 2.9 GHz Overclock of an RTX 2080 Ti Breaks Many World Records

Last month we talked about KINGPIN pushing a RTX 2080 Ti to 2.7 GHz, well the overclockers at GALAX were able to push the RTX 2080 Ti even further, clocking it to 2.94 GHz! Several overclockers including Rauf, OGS, Rsannino, Phil, Ronaldo, and ZeR0_Dan were invited to the GALAX OC Lab last week. They were all given a GALAX RTX 2080 Ti HOF OC LAB edition graphics card, which is specifically made for LN2 cooling. During the event a total of 17 records were achieved with the card as well as 4 Titan RTX records!

The GALAX RTX 2080 Ti HOF features a normal GPU boost of 1680 MHz and comes with a custom Bitspower water block. The card is designed with a 16 phase GPU-only VRM with the latest iteration of DrMOS and Digital PWM controllers. The VRAM has its separate power supply and the entire board is powered by a triple 8-pin connector configuration.

The frequency record was broke by overclocking the card to a maximum of 2.94 GHz, which is just shy of the 3 GHz barrier. The card was run in the GPUPI-1B benchmark and scored 2 sec, 691 ms. There are several 3DMark records, the most staggering is a Firestrike Extreme run where the card scored 24187 points on a single card with a frequency of 2.8 GHz.

Here are a list of records that were set during the event…
