Overclocking on the Z590 platform is pretty much the same as what we saw from the previous generation. For the i5-11600K we will be doing all of our overclocking using the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU). Opening up XTU we first run Intel’s Speed Optimizer, which is basically like an instant overclock. When we run it, it give us an all-core overclock of 4.8 GHz.
Running the built-in stress test we can see things are stable and our package temperature is only around 79C.
Next we went into the Advanced Tuning section and started to up our all-core overclock. While we were actually able to set the all-core as high as 5.2 GHz (52x) when running the stress test our system was not stable. We were only able to achieve a stable overclock of 4.9 GHz all-core.
