Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell Processor Review

System Overview & Testing Procedures
One thing that is great about the i7-4770K is that it is so closely matched to the previous generation i7-3770K processor. For that reason we will be directly comparing the two processors.

Now since we have a new LGA 1150 socket with the i7-4770K the motherboard we are using will be different, but everything else included the memory, video card, power supply and hard drive will be the same on each system. Here is what our two test systems look like:

Intel Z77 Test System
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77X-UD4H
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 680
Memory: 16GB DDR3-1600 Crucial Ballistix
Storage: 120GB Kingston HyperX 3K SSD
Power: Corsair AX860i
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit

Intel Z87 Test System
