Like iOttie’s other cradles, there is a unique button in the middle that, when pressed by the inserted phone, closes the arms to fit the phone snugly. The Easy Flex Qi departs from most of the other iOttie cradles by including a bottom rest. This rest helps the user position the phone such that the charging coils are aligned every time. No one likes misalignment of Qi, because then no charging occurs! There is a screen printed circle on the unit to indicate the internal coil’s location.
A small LED block is on the lefthand side of the unit, to indicate charging status.
The arm of the device has a few points of articulation. The phone can rotate left and right freely. The charging pad nods forward and backward, and very slightly left and right.
The mount is one of the big reasons to choose iOttie over most competitors. iOttie relies not solely on suction, but also on a sticky glue that is actually frustratingly difficult to remove without something to pry it off the windshield or dashboard. I know this because I’ve moved the device once and have moved the Easy Flex 2 units I own several times!
