iStorage diskashur DT2
Taking a first look at the iStorage diskashur DT2 you can tell that it is more of a desktop drive. It has official dimensions of 185.5 mm x 112 mm x 43.5 mm (HxWxD) and weights in a 1238 grams, so if you would happen to drop this drive on your foot it is going to hurt! Unlike the diskashur2 this drive is only available in a single color, which is sort of a mix of black and grey.
On the top of the drive you’ll find a keypad, this is made to enter a PIN to access the drive. The keypad actually has a wear resistant epoxy coating which hides key usage to avoid tipping off a potential hacker to commonly used keys. There are also three indication LEDs on the top of the drive.
Flipping the drive over there are two rubber strips that will keep the drive in place on your desk.
On the back of the drive you’ll find all of your connections and buttons. There is a large power button, power connection, USB connection, and a Kensington lock port. You’ll notice a series of holes on both the front and back of the drive, these will provide some airflow throughout the drive. You’ll notice there are no screws or anything like that to access the drive inside. Even if you were able to open the casing, all the components of the diskAshur DT2 are completely covered by a layer of super tough epoxy resin, which is virtually impossible to remove without causing permanent damage to the components.
