Action cameras are something that really has changed how we capture and see different moments in our lives. Action cameras put you right in the middle of the action, that could mean being under water, in extreme heat, or even getting thrown down a mountain. It would be really disappointing if you shot an awesome sequence and your data was damaged or did not record properly. This can easily happen with ordinary SD cards. That is why Kingston has come out with the microSD Action Camera card. It is waterproof, shock and vibration proof, x-ray proof and temperature proof. On top of that it is a Class 10 card with read and write speeds of 90 MB/s and 45 MB/s respectively. Let’s see what it can do!
Special thanks to Kingston for providing us with the Action Camera microSD Card to review.
The Action Camera microSD Card comes in a normal retail package you would see at your local electronics store. The front lets us know we are indeed getting the Action Camera microSD Card, the capacity, speed and much more.
Flipping the retail package over there is a little more information on the card and information about the warranty, which is a lifetime warranty.
The card comes in a small carrying case with a larger SD adpater card, which is typically when you get a microSD card. The card is your typical microSD card, although it white unlike Kingston’s other microSD offerings. All of the relevant information is printed right on the card. So we can see that this is the 64GB capacity version of the card, which is a class 10 card, it does support the UHS-I interface and and it has a UHS-I speed class of 3. Kingston currently offers this card in 64GB and 32GB capacities.
