Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-5200 32GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts

It seems like many components for Alder Lake are either priced high or hard to find. While things have got better over the past couple of months, DDR5 is still going to be expensive and you could make the decision to go with a DDR4 Z690 motherboard. One of the reasons we saw the split of DDR4 and DDR5 offerings on Z690 motherboards was just the overall availability of DDR5. I do feel that if you go the DDR5 route you will be very pleased and of course your a future-proofing your system.

The Fury Beast DDR5 from Kingston in particular is a very solid kit. We reviewed the 5200 MHz kit today, and running at that speed it is definitely going to give you better performance than a JEDEC-spec kit running at 4800 MHz. 5200 MHz seems to be the starting point for performance and enthusiast kits. In our testing the memory performed great and we did not run into any issues setting the XMP profile.

This memory does have a little bit of overclocking headroom too, we were able to bring it up to 5400 MHz without having to change timings or voltage. Bumping the voltage up to 1.4V we were able to get it to boot at 5600 MHz, but our system was not stable.

As far as looks go this memory is a pretty simple kit, but it does have some sleek heatspreaders unlike the Crucial DDR5 kit we took a look at recently. While black is currently the only color Kingston is offering it would be nice if they had at least a white offering as well.

One thing this memory really has going for it is availability. You can easily find this memory online or in-store. The 32GB 5200 MHz kit that we took a look at today is selling at our favorite online retailer for $268.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-5200 32GB Memory Kit a 9 out of 10 score.
