Lenovo IdeaCentre Y900 Razer Edition Gaming Desktop Review

Lenovo IdeaCentre Y900 Razer Edition Gaming Desktop Overview
The Lenovo IdeaCentre Y900 Razer Edition Gaming Desktop looks much like Lenovo’s normal IdeaCentre Y900 gaming desktop as they use the same chassis. The case is the size of your typical mid-tower. The front has a stylish design and has a “Razer Edition” emblem on it. Lenovo is able to keep the sleek design on the front of the case because there is a door covering up the DVD-R drive. Also on the front of the case is a Lenovo “Y” gaming logo, which will light up when you have the system turned on. Behind that logo you actually have two cooling fans that will bring cool air into your system. The case does have a side panel window so you can see some of your hardware inside.

At the top-front of the case you’ll find four USB ports (Razer green of course), audio connections, a SD card reader and large power button. Having the USB ports and other connections towards the front of the case makes it easy to connect your gaming headset, keyboard, and mouse.

At the top of the case there is some ventilation and towards the back you’ll notice a section that has some carbon fiber covering on it. If you press down on it, it actually pops off the side panel. I really like this and it makes getting into your case super easy. At the back of the case there is a simple slider that will lock the side panel and disable the top button.

At the rear of the case you’ll find a removable dust filter, which makes keeping the inside of the Y900 Razer Edition pretty easy.

As I said opening the case up is as easy as pressing the button on the top of the case. With the side panel off the case we can see whats inside. Taking a look at everything there is actually a Lenovo motherboard inside. We also have an Intel Core i7-6700K, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, 16GB Samsung DDR4 (single stick), 256GB PCIe SSD, and 2TB hard drive. The CPU is air-cooled with a simple tower cooler. Lenovo is using the Founders Edition version of the GTX 1080. They also have a GPU support in place so the card does not bend or move when you are transporting the Y900 Razer Edition.
