Final Thoughts on the Lenovo Legion Tower 7i (Gen 10) Desktop PC

After spending quite a lot of time with the Legion Tower 7i (Gen 10) I am quite impressed and I can tell who they designed this system for. Its for the power user and the gamer who wants the best possible performance and thermals. The Legion Tower 7i is a tank and you can tell from the moment you take it out of the box. I feel that so many pre-builds that conform to the typical PC tower style are just boring, but Lenovo has really made this system look sleek. The geometric front panel, large Legion logo, side panel window and of course all of the RGB lighting makes this system stand out.

Our Legion Tower 7i was the 34IAS10 model, which features an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, 64GB DDR5-5600 RAM, 2x 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs. With these specifications you are going to see excellent performance. You are going to be able to max out your AAA titles at 4K and easily get over 100 FPS. Beyond gaming this system is going to be great for content creation, streaming, and more!

All of this hardware was kept nice and cool thanks to the design of the chassis and of course the fans and liquid cooling solution. Many pre-builds focus on being small or being some unique shape, but they really sacrifice cooling performance. Lenovo has opted for a more traditional case design that has proper cooling. Cooling which I might add is very quiet too!

If you ever wanted to upgrade this system pretty much everything is upgradable, which you don’t always find when it comes to a pre-built system. This system is really designed like a typical PC build so everything is accessible and the case itself actually has room for hard drives if you wanted to add some slower, but higher capacity drives.

You are also going to get quite a lot of connectivity on this system. On the top of the case you have high-speed USB ports including a Type-C as well as Thunderbolt 4 (Type-C) on the rear I/O. The system also comes equipped with WiFi 6E so you don’t have to worry about “plugging in” if you don’t want to.

Now not everything is great with this system. First on the website they show the memory having RGB lighting and heatspreaders, our system had DDR5 with no RGB or heatspreaders. The two included NVMe drives are fast (around 5000 MB/s), but there are faster PCIe 4.0 drives out there. Finally we have cost. This system is selling at our favorite online retailer for $3485. We are able to spec out a similar system for around $2700, but of course we would have to build it, install the operating system etc.

I think if you are looking for a pre-built system the Legion Tower 7i (Gen 10) is going to be a solid choice overall. As I said it’s built like a tank, the performance is great, has proper cooling, and you can actually upgrade it if you want to. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lenovo Legion Tower 7i (Gen 10) Desktop PC a 9 out of 10 score.
