Lenovo ThinkStation S30 Workstation Review

ThinkStation S30 Overview
The ThinkStation S30 is of course a desktop PC so you have a tower.  The tower itself is about the size of a normal mid tower case.  It is all black and made of steel so it is a little heavy.  At the top of the case there is a large handle that can be used to carry the S30.

Taking a look at the front of the S30 you have two 5.25-inch drive bays, one of which is taken up by an optical drive.  Moving down you have a large card reader, two USB 2.0 ports and headphone and microphone jacks.  Towards the left is a large power button.  At the bottom of the case is a large ventilated section that will allow air to flow into the case.

The side of the case is pretty plain except for a locking handle that will allow you to easily access the interior of the case.

Once you get inside the case there is an overview of the system on the inside of the side panel.  This is great as it shows you exactly where everything is.  The system is laid out pretty much the same as all other computer systems you see.  The wire management is not the best we have seen, but not the worst either.

The system is powered by a Lenovo motherboard featuring an Intel Xeon E5-1620 Sandy Bridge processor, NVIDIA Quadro 2000 graphics, 8GB of DDR3-1333 memory, two Seagate 500GB 7200 RPM drives in a RAID 0 setup and an 80PLUS Gold Certified power supply.
