If you want to add extra storage to your PlayStation 5 there are quite a lot of options to choose from. Lexar has recently introduced their Play 2280 SE Gen4 solid state drive. This is a follow up to their original Play 2280 at a more affordable price, without sacrificing performance. This drive makes use of the InnoGrit IG5236 controller teamed with Longsys 3D TLC NAND. This combination gives us rated speeds of 7000 MB/s read and 6000 MB/s write. Of course since this drive is made for the PlayStation 5 it also comes with a pre-installed heatsink to keep temperatures in check. Is this the drive you need for your PlayStation 5? Read on as we find out!
Special thanks to Lexar for providing us with the Play 2280 SE Gen4 Solid State Drive to review.

Lexar Play 2280 SE Gen4 Solid State Drive Packaging
The Lexar Play 2280 SE comes in a pretty standard retail package. On the front of the package there is a picture of the drive and it lets us know the capacity, which is 4TB. This is currently the only capacity available for the drive.
On the back there are more details on the drive.
Getting everything out of the box we have the drive itself, a small screwdriver, a quick installation guide, and a QR code for a guide on how to install the drive in your PlayStation 5. The included screw driver allows your to remove the pre-installed heatsink if you wanted to say install the drive on a motherboard instead of your PS5.
