LG is broadening its range of gaming monitors by introducing two significant additions, the UltraGear GR75DC and UltraGear GR65DC. Apart from their model numbers and a $100 price distinction, the key difference between these two curved monitors is their connectivity; the GR75DC features a USB-C port, while the GR65DC omits it in favor of a more affordable price.
Apart from that, the specifications remain identical. Both monitors are based on a 45-inch ultrawide VA (Vertical Alignment) panel with a 5120×1440 resolution, resulting in a 32:9 aspect ratio. LG highlights that this configuration is akin to having two separate 24-inch QHD monitors with 16:9 aspect ratios, all seamlessly integrated into a single display.
Furthermore, both monitors boast a substantial size and a curved design (with a 1500R curvature), coupled with impressive speed featuring a 200Hz refresh rate and a swift 1ms response time. Image quality is also a highlight, as LG claims these displays deliver an impressive 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Noteworthy specifications include a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and a typical brightness of 400 nits.
It’s worth noting that LG doesn’t specify the peak brightness in the specifications, but it does highlight that both displays have received VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. To attain this certification, monitors must achieve a minimum peak brightness of 600 nits, in addition to meeting other criteria such as real-time contrast ratios with local dimming, an enhanced color gamut compared to DisplayHDR 400, and 10-bit image processing.
Both monitors are also categorized as FreeSync Premium displays. In terms of connectivity, they both offer HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, along with a 4-pole headphone out jack featuring DTS HP:X technology. Notably, the GR75DC includes USB-C connectivity, as mentioned earlier.
LG has opened preorders for both monitors, offering them at a price of $899.99 for the UltraGear GR75DC and $799.99 for the UltraGear GR65DC.
