A Look Inside the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini V2 Flow Case

One thing that is nice about this case compared to the original is that you can removed the side panels without having to remove the top panel. The main side panel is held on by a simple thumbscrew. When you loosen it you can pull the panel away from the case slightly and then pull up on it. With the main side panel removed we get a nice look into the case.

The first thing that caught my attention was of course the pre-installed fans. We have three reverse blade 120mm fans mounted in the bottom of the case and then two more 120mm reverse blade fans in the side mount of the case. These are daisy-chained together so you really don’t have to do much but plug them into your motherboard. The bottom cooling mount will only support three 120mm fans, but it is fully removable for easy installation. We can also see holes in the bottom of the motherboard mount so you can easily route your wires that way. The side mount only supports two 120mm fans. There are removable covers for the side mount so you don’t have big open holes ruining the whole look of the case.

The case also has a built-in graphics card support bracket. It can be adjusted up and down as well as forward and backwards to easily adapt to the card you have installed.

The motherboard tray will support ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards. There are plenty of cable routing holes scattered throughout the motherboard tray.

Moving over to the opposite side of the case once we remove the panel things looks very much the same as the original version of the case. The first thing we see is the storage mount with the Lian Li logo in the center. This will support two 2.5-inch drives and can be fully removed from the case for easy installation of those drives.

To the right of that storage panel is your power supply mount. While the actual width of the case would not make it possible to support an ATX power supply they have actually extended the PSU bracket just slightly and it all works because there is a bump-out on the rear side panel of the case. So instead of just supporting SFX or SFX-L power supplies we now have support for ATX power supplies up to 200mm. Below the power supply mount are two storage trays. These are interesting as they actually have ventilated doors on them. They will support a single 2.5-inch SSD or 3.5-inch hard drive. So out of the box this case supports a total of four drives. These cages are fully removable from the case.

We can also remove the storage mount and get a better look inside the back of the case. There are built-in velcro straps to help organize your cables and all of the included cables are white to match the case.

  1. A minor problem is that they don’t sell any matching fans yet so you can’t fill out the back and top fan slots with matching fans.

  2. There also needs to be a clear understanding that the case does not support anything mounted in the traditional #1 slot (the one between the middle mounting screws) found on older motherboards. Many newer motherboard have dropped the #1 slot and use the space for m.2 mounts so the gpu goes in the #2 slot. But there are still some motherboards out there that have a #1 slot and that doesn’t work with this case.
