LUXA2 GroovyT Magic Boom Box Review

Final Thoughts
When I first heard of the GroovyT I thought to myself, “Is this really going to work?”. Well after the first time I used it I could not believe just how easy it was to get it setup and working. All you really have to do is place your smartphone or tablet on the GroovyT, turn on some music and you are good to go. The electromagnetic induction amplification technology is rather cool and its fun to have friends over and be like, “check this out!” and show them the GroovyT.

The GroovyT only has 3W speakers so it is not like you are going to get some legendary sound out of it, but the sound will definitely be more powerful than your smartphone or tablet’s speakers. I listened to all types of music using the GroovyT and it all sounded great.

The GroovyT is pretty small and makes taking it with you as easy as throwing it in your laptop bag or backpack. Because it is so small you can actually have your smartphone on top of it and be holding them both as a single unit and play games, giving you better and more immersive sound. I like that the GroovyT is rechargeable via USB and the playtime of 5.5 hours did hold up in our testing.

The only real issue that I have with the GroovyT is that your device HAS to be on the speaker for it to work. With Bluetooth and WiFi speakers you can have your device in your pocket and be walking around, you can easily check messages or change the music. That is one thing that I really liked about moving from a iPod dock-type speakers to Bluetooth speakers. But at the same time Bluetooth and WiFi speakers are much more expensive than the GroovyT.

Right now the GroovyT is selling for $19.99 online, which really makes it a no-brainer if you are looking for a portable speaker. Overall ThinkComputers gives the LUXA2 GroovyT a 9 out of 10 score and our Good Value Award!
