The AtomMan G7 Pt doesn’t quite fit the case of a typical ATX desktop PC or a Mini-PC, despite Minisforum’s classification. It occupies a middle ground between a full-sized desktop and a compact system. Equipped with a desktop-class processor and a dedicated graphics card, it delivers significantly better performance than standard Mini-PCs.

The G7 Pt can be viewed as a spiritual successor to Intel’s NUC Enthusiast series, which were slightly larger systems featuring high-core count CPUs and discrete graphics. The latest in this series is the ASUS ROG NUC, which includes the Core Ultra 9 185H and RTX 4070 graphics, a combination usually seen in high-end gaming laptops, making the ROG NUC quite pricey. However, an alternative with different specifications is now available.

Minisforum has unveiled their system as the first AMD Advantage certified Mini-PC, thanks to the inclusion of the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX and Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics. The CPU, with 16 Zen4 cores, is one of AMD’s fastest mobile processors and is similar to its desktop counterpart. Although it isn’t the X3D version, which is only available in two laptops, the Radeon RX 7600M XT is a mid-range model with an 8GB 128-bit memory bus and 2048 Stream Processors. While the RX 7900M would be a superior option, it is exclusively available in just two laptops.

The PC features a patented “Cold Wave Ultra” cooling system that can dissipate up to 205 watts. This system includes eight heat pipes, four fans, and liquid metal applied to both the CPU and GPU. The motherboard is situated between two coolers, and the system is designed to stand vertically to ensure optimal cooling.

Built on the AMD Dragon Range platform, which is essentially a Raphael desktop die in a BGA package, the system supports PCIe Gen5 SSDs—a rare feature for its form factor. Users can install two SSDs, though the second slot is PCIe Gen4, and reviews note that Minisforum did not include a Gen5 socket. The system also features WiFi 7, a 2.5G Ethernet port, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, and USB-C for video output.

This system lacks an OCuLink connector, but given its discrete graphics, this omission may not be as critical compared to other Minisforum products. The company has confirmed that shipments of the PC will commence by the end of this month.
