The Z87 MPower MAX will feature an 20 (8+12) VRM. It will make use of Hi-C caps, Super Ferrite Chokes, a Digital PWM, and a dual-BIOS. Overclocking features include a clear CMOS switch, debug LED, Easy Button III, Multi BIOS II, voltage check points and much more. Dual 8-pin connectors are used to power the CPU so you should have enough power for some great overclocks.

A large U-shaped heatsink cools the VRM components. MSI refers to this as the “M” Cool design. The PCH has a large heatsink on it as well with a very attractive half “M” on it.

Expansion slots include three PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots, four PCI Express 3.0 x1 slots and a mPCIe slot which will support mSATA solid state drives and WiFi modules. There are eight SATA 6GB/s ports and a PEG connector is located near them. MSI is also using the same audio boost chip that they are using in their Z87 Gaming lineup.

The Z87 MPower motherboard will be a slightly cut down version of the MPower MAX with less feaatures and of course a less expensive price.
