MSI Introduces GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER With AD102 GPU

NVIDIA could be introducing a new version of its RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. According to reports, MSI has shared a datasheet featuring the MSI RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Ventus 3X Black OC graphics card, which has specifications almost identical to the current Ventus 3X model. The main distinction is a photograph that appears to confirm it does not utilize the AD103 GPU.

The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, released in January, is equipped with the AD103-275 processor, which includes 8,448 CUDA cores. This configuration is new, as the previous model (non-SUPER) used a different GPU, the AD104-400. Additionally, it has been revealed that the XX70-class of GPUs will soon include a third GPU option, the AD102, which is NVIDIA’s flagship processor for the Ada Lovelace series.

As disclosed by @wnxod, MSI is gearing up to release a new card that incorporates the AD102-225 GPU. This GPU had not been mentioned previously and appears to be a substitute for the AD103-275, offering (nearly) identical specifications, at least on paper.

According to MSI specifications, this GPU will also include 8,448 CUDA cores and will support identical clock speeds as the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Ventus 3X (the silver edition) featuring the AD103 GPU.

Regarding the differences, the AD102-based model is slightly larger (measuring 322x136x62 mm compared to 308x120x52 mm) and heavier (weighing 1,464g versus 1,107g). The most notable change is the increase in power consumption from 285W to 295W, which deviates from the standard for this SKU. The GPU used can be easily identified by examining the backplate; the capacitor arrangement clearly indicates it’s the AD102 model.

It’s important to mention that GeForce RTX 40 cards featuring non-standard GPUs are often exclusively marketed in specific regions and typically not available in Western countries. Wnxod, who uncovered the datasheet, also shared a GPU-Z screenshot from another model (Inno3D), suggesting that NVIDIA has indeed introduced a new variant of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

As of now, none of these cards are currently on sale, making it unclear if there are any additional changes. The AD102 variant of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER now stands alongside the RTX 4090 and RTX 4090D as the only gaming models currently offered by NVIDIA featuring this GPU.
