MSI MAG B650 Motherboard Running Ryzen 7000 CPU at 1.5V VCore Spotted

We are coming across some interesting insight into the MSI MAG B650 motherboard; a recent screenshot of the motherboard shows it running the AMD engineering sample. This gives us a hint that AMD is planning to develop a B650 mid-range motherboard series. This won’t take long since AMD has already introduced the high-end X670 (or X690) series as well.

Some of you might get the B650 confused with Intel’s B660 series. These two are different. The Intel B660 series are mid-range LGA1700 motherboards designed specifically for Alder Lake and Raptor Lake processors.

AMD’s B650 on the other hand are entirely different; they will be part of the new AM5 platform designed for the Ryzen 7000 processors, codenamed as “Raphael”. This very well indicates that the screenshot of the engineering sample shows a Zen4 processor.

What has caught our attention is the high VCore of 1.532V. This can very well be a bug but it is also a probability that someone has got to testing the overclocking ability of the next generation series already. However, it won’t be wise to rely on this voltage as these are very early samples in terms of clocks and overclocking capability.

These new processors will be AMD’s first desktop S-Series to come with built in Radeon graphics. The 5nm processors will come with 16 Zen4 cores and will feature a new DDR5 memory. The series is expected to launch by the end of this year.
