Final Thoughts on the MPG CORELIQUID P13

The MSI MPG CORELIQUID P13 presents a bit of a challenge – it looks great and has features that would tend to line up well compared to other AIOs. There is the 2.1″ LCD that does a great job of displaying content, even allowing you to use it as a secondary display. There are also the three 120mm ARGB fans that let you customize them as needed, and then the great Streamline cable management and daisy-chained fans really do a good job cleaning up cable mess. That said, there are some drawbacks on both the performance and aesthetics sides that hold this cooler back.

Both idle and load temperatures are on the high end of our testing graphs, something I attribute to the use of the CycloBlade 9 fans which try to mix both airflow and static pressure performance into a single fan, but really result in a fan that is at least pretty quiet. Then you have the MSI Center software that doesn’t support native image display on the LCD, and online video playback that doesn’t give you full control over what is being displayed on the screen. That, and the software was unable to detect a full range of available sensors, though other AIOs and their software have been able to do this in their applications.

The butting heads of looks vs performance vs feature integration really leaves me with mixed feelings about the MSI MPG CORELIQUID P13. If you are going for an all-MSI build, then maybe it makes sense to check this AIO out. If you’re just looking for a good, overall cooler that gives a good mix of these categories, maybe this one isn’t for you. In either case, our favorite online retailer has the cooler available for $189.99 if you want to pick one up. At the end of the day, the MSI MPG CORELIQUID P13 earns a 7 out of 10.
