MSI’s touts their VR One gaming backpack as the “world’s lightest VR backpack” as it weighs in at 3.6KG with two battery packs installed. On top of that the device will provide over 1.5 hours of non-stop gaming unplugged. That is about 50% more than most competing models. Pre-orders for the backpack are now available from major retailers like Newegg.com.
The base unit is $1999 and features and Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics, and a 256 GB solid state drive. If you are looking for even more performance the next model up has a GeForce GTX 1070 and a 512 GB solid state drive for $2299.
The VR One Backpack allows you to move freely without being constraint by cables like you would when using a VR headset on a typical desktop computer. It will be interesting to see if these VR backpacks catch on or not.
