This week during E3 at the Microsoft press conference the company announced the next installment in the Gears of War Series, Gears 5. This is the first new game in the series since 2016 and you notice that the game is just called Gears 5, not Gears of War 5.
The game centers around Kait Diaz, who was introduced in the series is Gear of War 4 and was playable in the games multiplayer mode. The game of course is being developed by The Coalition, the Vancouver-based studio, which has been in charge of the franchise since 2014.
Not much is known about the story, except from what you can pull from the trailers (below), but the game will feature both split-screen and online co-play. Looking at these trailers the game looks amazing, Microsoft has described the game as “the biggest, most beautiful Gears world ever created.” The game will also have support for 4K Ultra HD resolution, HDR, and will run at 60 FPS.
Like most first-party Xbox games we expect Gears 5 to be available on both Xbox One and Windows 10 when it releases next year. Check out the awesome trailers below!
