Newly Announced ADATA Prospector 950 SSD Supports Up to 28,000 TBW

ADATA recently released their Prospector 950 SSD, which is targeted towards Chia mining. The SSD is capable of writing up to 40 times more than a typical SSD, with a total write volume of 28,000 TBW.

ADATA Prospector950 utilizes an M.2 PCI-E 3.0 x4 connection which allows it to provide read and write speeds of up to 3500 MB/s and 3000 MB/s, respectively. It can also offer reads of up to 280K IOPS in reading and 220K IOPS in writing, allowing you to transmit your plots to several hard drives simultaneously. Besides Chia mining, the SSD is ideal for demanding tasks like video editing, where one can easily upload and download large files in a matter of seconds.

“Since Chia’s arrival we have seen a great demand for SSDs with the ability to support a large amount of data writing, which until a few months ago they were only available for industrial and server applications. With our Prospector line, we seek to offer a new alternative for this market sector that allows plotting for extended periods of time without worrying about the useful life and at a much more accessible cost than a server-oriented SSD, allowing Chia miners to work calm without the need to make large outlays of money. “
