Over the weekend some pretty interesting photos appeared over on Chiphell. They are of an alleged NVIDIA RTX 3080 graphics card, which is more than likely either a prototype or engineering sample. This design does appear to be NVIDIA’s, not a partner design.
The card looks to feature a two fan design with a heatsink that may get covered by a shroud at a later date. The fan design is really interesting, instead of having both fans on one side of the card, there is one fan towards the end of the card facing down, and a second fan towards the front of the card facing up. These would push air in different directions.
The card also features a very irregular PCB, which can be seen by looking at the rear of the card. It is a V-shape design, which allows NVIDIA to install the fan on the opposite side, and closer to the GPU.
Power connections are not visible on the card, which means they could have been moved to the side like NVIDIA has done with the Quadro models.
No launch date for these card has been set by NVIDIA, but with this leak it might be sooner than we think!
